We start serving lunch at noon sharp Monday through Friday at the Somervell County Citizens Center, so try to be at the Center about 10 minutes before 12 p.m. Please remember to call by 10 that morning and let us know you are coming.

March is upon us, and we have two special events planned. The first is Friday, March 16 — our St. Patrick’s Day party from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We’ll have snacks, lunch and a prize awarded to the “Most Green” person there. The second event will be our Easter party from 11:30 to 12:30 on Thursday, March 29. Don’t miss our Easter egg hunt. Prizes will be awarded, so have your egg-hunting shoes on!
For some entertainment and socialization with friends and family, come to hear bluegrass music led by Cita Moore at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 5. Join in singing gospel music with Paul Trotter on Monday, March 19 at 6 p.m. Be sure to bring your favorite dish or dessert to share with others on those evenings.
Our daily activities include woodcarving from 9 to 12 each Tuesday; exercising at 10:30 each Tuesday and Thursday; and chess from 10 to 3 every Monday and Thursday. Our calendar for the month of
March, showing both activities and menus, are available at the Center or can be mailed or emailed to you upon request.

We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. Meals eaten at the Center for those 60 and over: donations are appreciated; those under 60 years of age: $5.50; take-out meals are $5.50 with drink and dessert included.

Friday, March 2 — Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, garden salad, roll, coconut cake.
Monday, March 5 — Pinto beans with sausage, fried okra, beets, cornbread, buttermilk pie.
Tuesday, March 6 — Baked fish, cole slaw, mac and cheese, hushpuppies, cookies.
Wednesday, March 7 — Pork roast, new potatoes, zucchini and tomatoes, roll, oatmeal cake.
Thursday March 8 — Meatloaf, O’Brien potatoes, spinach, roll, brownies.
Friday, March 9 — Butter-baked chicken, baked corn, salad, roll, tropical fruit.
