The weekend is here with plenty of fun events taking place. Check out these area happenings and have a good St. Patrick’s Day weekend!
1. Moonshiner’s Adventure
Explore the history of moonshine in Texas at Dinosaur Valley State Park’s Moonshiner’s Adventure taking place from 2-4 p.m. Friday, starting at the trailhead/hike-in campsite parking lot. The hike is about two miles long and will feature information about how people made, hid, sold and survived on moonshine during the prohibition era. 2. FRED Talk: Buzzard Day
Take a trip to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and celebrate an important native Texas bird at the FRED Talk: Buzzard Day event taking place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday starting at the center’s front gate in Glen Rose. 3. Girl’s Night Out
Enjoy an afternoon of shopping, games, prizes, drinks, snacks and more at the Girl’s Night Out event taking place at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Historic Glen Rose Square.
4. Third weekend bluegrass concert
Round up the family and head to Oakdale Park at 6 p.m. Saturday for the Third Weekend Bluegrass Jamboree Festival hosted by the Paluxy River Bluegrass Association. 5. St. Patrick’s Day events
Don’t forget to wear green Saturday and check your local restaurants and businesses for St. Patrick’s Day specials and activities. Granbury will be holding several events including its third annual St. Paddy’s Pub Crawl, a birthday bash and cook-off, a concert featuring the Tejas Brothers and the Granbury After Dark event.
