The weekend is here with some great family friendly happenings taking place in Glen Rose. Make it a good one!
1. Edible and medicinal plants walk
Discover what type of plants are edible and how the natives used them at Dinosaur Valley State Park’s edible and medicinal plants walk kicking off at 10 a.m. Friday at the park store. 2. Batty for Bats
Join a park ranger for a kid-friendly presentation about bats from 8-9 p.m. Friday at the Dinosaur Valley State Park amphitheater. 3. Annual Spring Wingding
Enjoy free crafts and hear from speakers at Dinosaur Valley’s third annual Spring Wingding taking place from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday. The event’s theme is “migration” and will also feature bird-related vendors, exhibitors, raptor demonstrations, hikes and a bird-friendly plant sale. 4. Big Dutch Oven Gathering
Round up the family and head over to Oakdale Park when the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society presents its Big Dutch Oven Gathering taking place from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday. 5. Water gardening to attract dragonflies
Bring dragonflies and damselflies into your garden by learning how to attract them at a Dinosaur Valley presentation taking place from 11-11:45 a.m. Saturday.
