We had winners in the 42 tournament held May 30 at the Glen Rose Citizens Center. Tied for first place were team Nancy Moore and Dortha Beck and the team of Tamra Black and Billie Flanary. Second place was won by the team of Ray Dowdy and James Kelley. Third place was the team of Ann Parham and Roy Mercer. Fourth was the team of John Psencik and Phyllis Psencik. Congratulations to all of them!

We are looking for a new staff member for the Center. That person’s duties will be clerical in nature, and some light bookkeeping will be required; therefore, experience in Quickbooks will be necessary.

The job will be part-time. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, call the Center at 254-897-2139. We are an equal opportunity employer.

We have two special events planned this coming week. The first is on Wednesday, June 13 at noon.

A singing group called Free Indeed will entertain everyone with gospel music. Come for lunch and enjoy your favorite gospel songs. The second event is on Friday, June 15. Fathers will be celebrated, beginning at 11:30 that morning. Grant Groblebe will be there, singing your favorite songs, past and current.

Line dancing is a new activity here at the Center. Join Teri Lucas and friends Tuesday of every week, and learn a new line dance to a favorite song. This activity starts at 10:30 in the morning. If you like to exercise with others, come to the Center on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Bunco starts at 9:30 Wednesday, June 13. And bingo is every Monday and Friday at 10:30 a.m. Both are fun, and prizes in the form of gift cards can be won.

Our menu for the week is:

Friday, June 9 — chicken dressing casserole, corn, green beans, roll and pumpkin pie.
