At our 42 tournament on June 20, the winners were: 1st place—John Psencik and Phyllis Psencik; 2nd place—Billie Flanary and Tamra Black; 3rd place—Nancy Moore and Dortha Beck; and 4th place—James Kelley and Jackie Smith. Other 42 players were Loveda Swaim, Clark Stewart, Ray Dowdy and Ann Parham. Congratulations to our winners!
The dance on Saturday, June 23, was well-attended, and everyone enjoined the music played by Grant Groblebe and Wes. If you missed the dance this time, come to our next dance on Saturday, July 21 at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Michael Cote and his band.
As we announced in the last issue, grocery shopping and Dollar General days have changed. Our shopping schedule for this week: Walmart on Monday at 1 p.m., grocery shopping on Tuesday and Friday at 1 p.m., and Dollar General at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. If you’re interested in going on any of these days, please call or come by and sign the sheet to schedule your trip.
Bunco is scheduled for this week on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Carol Kofke offiates. Come and join others for some fun, and you may win a gift card! Also, bingo is scheduled for Monday and Friday at 10:30 a.m.
Come and join the woodcarvers at Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon. If you carve now, bring your tools and sit in. If you don’t know how to carve, come and learn. Our carvers will be glad to teach you. Also on Tuesday our fitness group meets at 10:30, led by Terri Lucas. If you miss Tuesday, you can come on Thursday at the same time.
Blood pressure screening will be taken by the Glen Rose Nursing Home staff on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Also on Wednesday is line dancing at 10:30 that morning.

Friday, July 6—Turkey and dressing, green beans, corn, roll and pumpkin pie.
Monday—Pork chop, macaroni and cheese, garden salad, cornbread, and fruit salad.
Tuesday—Chicken Alfredo, carrots, tomato/cucumber salad, slice of wheat bread, oranges and bananas.
Wednesday—Pork roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, peach cobbler.
Thursday—Meatloaf, blackeyed peas, cabbage, cornbread and pineapple tidbits.
Friday—Barbecue sandwich, baked beans, home fries, cookies.
Our Center is located at 209 SW Barnard, 254-897-2139. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. Meals eaten at the Center for those 60 and over: donations are appreciated; those under 60 years of age: $5.50; take-out meals are $3.75 for citizens 60 and over and $5.50 for those under 60 with drink and dessert included.
