Bill Tordiglione has owned his ranch near Chalk Mountain for 25 years where he has a vineyard that produces award-winning wine. Now he's now looking to expand Bull Lion Ranch wine sales to the Stephenville area.

“My family has been making wine for over 100 years in Italy and I always wanted to follow that on the ranch,” Tordiglione said.

Tordiglione received a gold medal award for his Cabernet at the Lonestar International Wine Competition in May.

“It was a blind judging,” Tordiglione said. “There are hundreds of entries and there are no labels -- only about 35 judges taste wine and determine the winners and top wines.”

Tordiglione takes pride in how much his family helps with his business and has a passion for making a high quality wine.

“It’s just being able to produce a good quality wine people like, and being able to follow in the footsteps of my great-grandfather, 'the wine maker,'” Tordiglione said.

Bull Lion Ranch wine has already made its appearance in Granbury and Fort Worth, but Tordiglione is looking to reach Stephenville.

“The Bull Lion Ranch brand is getting pretty well-known in Fort Worth and Granbury and hopefully Stephenville pretty soon,” Tordiglione said. “We’re in the top restaurants in Granbury and in all the finer restaurants in Fort Worth. We’re in Cattlemen’s Steak House, Grady Spears in Granbury, Christina’s and Eighteen-Ninety Grille in Granbury.”

As far as what people can expect when they visit the ranch and vineyard, Tordiglione said it's all about the wine and atmosphere.

“They can definitely expect great wine, a marvelous atmosphere, and a great country view of the ranch,” he said. “We raise red angus and paint horses and people can walk the trail of the vineyard. Our tasting room has two 14-foot tasting bars and we have outside seating for another thousand.”

Every third Saturday of the month, the ranch has a picking party. This includes guitar players, food vendors and wine.

"Tordiglione" is Italian for “bull of the line,” hence where the ranch's name came from.

“Come out to the ranch," Tordiglione said. "We’re only 15 minutes outside of Stephenville. This is a family adventure. My wife and three children are all active in this.”
