Do you like gospel music?
Come to the Somervell County Citizens Center Monday evening at 6 p.m. and join Paul Trotter as he leads gospel singing. Everyone has fun and looks forward to this event every third Monday each month.
Wednesday at 9 a.m. marks the start of the 42 tournament. Then stay for line dancing at 10:30.
Also on Wednesday you can have your blood pressure tested by Debbie starting at 11:30 a.m. And Kevin Kirkpatrick with Cherokee Rose Therapy will give an informative talk on current medical topics at 11:45 a.m.
Come exercise with Terri Lucas and others on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The Fitness Group also meets on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for exercise. You’re welcome to join.
Don’t forget that our grocery shopping days are Tuesday and Friday at 1 p.m. The drivers will be waiting to take you and bring you back from your shopping excursion. A trip to Dollar General is scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 pm.
Our chess group meets every Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. Bingo begins on Monday and Friday at 10:30 a.m. And the woodcarvers hone their skills on Tuesday from 9 a.m to noon. They’ll be glad to see you here.
Our monthly dance is this Saturday. The doors open at 7 p.m., and the cover charge is $5 per person.
Snacks, provided by our dancers, and coffee and tea, provided by the Center, are there for your enjoyment. The Michael Cote band will be playing, which is a favorite of our dancers. If you don’t feel like dancing, come for fellowship and good entertainment.

Friday, July 13 – Barbecue sandwich, baked beans, home fries, and cookies.
Monday – Pork pasole, garden salad, cornbread, chocolate pudding.
Tuesday – Chicken salad sandwich, tomato basil soup, and cookies.
Wednesday – Barbecue chicken, green beans, corn, roll, and fruit salad.
Thursday – Tamales with chili and cheese, pinto beans, Spanish rice, Fritos, diced pears.
Friday – Hamburger steak, scalloped potatoes, spinach, roll, and peaches.
Our Center is located at 209 SW Barnard, 254-897-2139. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. Meals eaten at the Center for those 60 and over: donations are appreciated; those under 60 years of age: $5.50; take-out meals are $3.75 for citizens 60 and over and $5.50 for those under 60 with drink and dessert included.
