Autumn Anderson lives in Tolar with her husband Thomas. They have three children, two are in college and their youngest son Clark will attend GRISD this year.
“Clark will be in the 4th grade and is stoked about his future plans to play football in a red jersey,” said Anderson.
Anderson has been teaching in Tolar for the past seven years. She started out as an instructional aide before going back to college to pursue her dream of teaching.
“I chose to apply in Glen Rose because I knew the possibilities for myself as a teacher and my son as a student are endless,” Anderson said.
Anderson will teach first grade, but for the past six years she has taught second.
“My philosophy about being a teacher is fairly simple. I firmly believe that every child deserves to be loved and appreciated," she said. "I believe that every child is gifted in his or her unique way and that they all have the ability to learn. It is extremely important to me that my students feel loved and respected in my classroom. I spend more time during the day with my students than their parents do during the school week. I want our classroom to be their home away from home! Once the relationships are established, then learning will occur.
“I am beyond excited to join the Glen Rose ISD family. I’m excited to meet new people and start to build new relationships. I love small towns, and Glen Rose has so many amazing attributes. Everyone has been so amazingly already. I feel right at home.”
