Monarch Meadows Farm is the GR Reporter's spotlight business of the month. The grand opening is set for Friday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m.

Monarch Meadows is a new venue hall owned by long time residents Pam and Lonny Parsons. The idea came to the couple when they held their son's wedding last year on the grounds.

“Everyone had so many compliments and we had people say we should rent it out. My husband and I decided why not start a venue business ourselves and we just went for it,” said Parsons.

Monarch offers four facilities. The big hall called the Flutter Hall is 4,000 square feet. There are also two cottages available for the bride and groom or any event that guests need to change and get ready. There is a smaller hall called the Chrysalis room that has screened porches and can hold up to 40 people.

Monarch is not only locally owned but the whole family has joined in and will help make sure events run smoothly. The Parson's daughter Diana Granados will be the onsite coordinator. Granados will be in charge of making sure the event not only has everything. 

“Service is important to us. We want to make it easy and enjoyable,” said Parsons.

The grand opening will have music, dancing, food and drink and there will be tours available to those who wish to see all of the grounds. It is open to the public.
