An Erath County sheriff’s deputy has been suspended following an allegation that he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female.
Dylan Metsgar, 24, has been with the department for about three years.
A source told the E-T that authorities first learned about the incident when a concerned resident reported it to the Stephenville Police Department.
Police Chief Jason King declined to comment on the case.
The Texas Rangers are heading the investigation.
Metsgar has not been arrested.
Coates confirmed Thursday that Metsgar has been placed on suspension, but refused to comment on the case citing the ongoing investigation.
