Glen Rose High School Robotics Team is gearing up for the Best Robotics contest that will take place on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Lamar High School.

The robotics team is led by GRHS instructor Rick Stover and was founded in 2016.

The team has six weeks to get ready for competition and the workshop is already buzzing with activities.

To get ready, the team elects a CEO, then team leaders are picked for different projects to build the robot.

Here is this year’s team lineup:

CEO and CoCEO: Kaylee Flannary and Orrin Miller

Electrical Leader: Kalysta Frailey

Build Team: Joseph Hague

Programming: Kaylee Flannary

Marketing leader: Laura Ogletree

The team meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

As co-CEO, Miller has a big responsibility, “A lot of planning meetings, making sure everything is running smoothly and promoting the team on social media and keeping up with the team’s progress.” .

The marketing team is responsible for designing T-shirts for the group and designing their booth at competition.

“I am on the marketing team so I get to help decide the activities and how the booth looks on game day,” said freshman Josue Rodriguez.

“This is my 2nd year and I love it. This is my family group and I hope it helps me in college, “ said sophomore Lysna Flores.
