Stephenville students earned five national championships and took two runner-up spots when they competed in the 91st annual National FFA Convention and Expo, held Oct. 30-Nov. 2 in Indianapolis.

SHS students also placed third, fourth and 12th in other divisions.

Eighteen of Stephenville’s FFA members had qualified for the national agriscience competition by winning state championships. Three members — Morgan McKinzie, Rette Peters and Caroly Leija — served on the National Courtesy Corps.

Stephenville FFA Agriscience students work year-round researching, analyzing and recording data and sharing their findings.
