Three suspects were arrested after an aggravated robbery that took place over the weekend in Red Oak.
The victim of the aggravated robbery had just gotten into his parked vehicle early Saturday morning in the 200 block of Pinewood Avenue when a black 2008 Nissan Altima pulled in front of his car, according to a Red oak Police press release. Two male suspects then exited the SUV and made their way toward the driver’s side of the vehicle, with each of them pointing a handgun in the victim’s direction.
The victim said he put his vehicle into reverse and distanced himself from the two individuals. The suspects then jumped back into their vehicle and fled the scene toward Ovilla Road. The victim promptly called law enforcement to report the attempted robbery.
Red Oak Police was dispatched to the scene at 5:12 a.m. to investigate the incident. At around 5:18 a.m., police located the suspect vehicle at the RaceTrac located at 100 Ovilla Road and apprehended the three suspects without incident.
Records check on the vehicle showed that it was listed as stolen from outside of Fort Worth. Further investigation revealed two firearms inside of the vehicle, with one of them listed as stolen outside of Malverne, AR.
Two of the suspects were identified as Duncanville resident Ahmad Williams, 17, and Dallas resident Kobi Cason, 17. Williams and Cason were both charged with aggravated robbery, theft of a firearm and engaging in organized criminal activity and are currently detained in the Red Oak City Jail. A third male suspect is confined on the same charges at the Ellis County Juvenile Detention Center.
