A public hearing on a proposed regulation to prohibit through truck traffic on County Road 312 will be held during the Somervell County Commissioners Court meeting that is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10.
Part of the wording to the proposed order states that, “Whereas, the Commissioners Court finds that truck traffic may be utilizing its County Road No. 312 from the intersection of CR 333 and CR 312 to the intersection of FM 200 South and CR 312 to ‘cut through’ from U.S. Highway No. 67 to FM 200 South as a ‘short cut’ and whereas the Commissioners Court further finds that a ‘special hazard’ to its citizens exists on County Road 312 which requires restrictions on truck traffic and the installation of no (through) truck traffic signs and that the regulation to be imposed will be in the best interest of the County and its citizens.”
The proposed regulation states that “the Commissioners Court wishes to establish a fine for violations of this order in an amount not to exceed $200 per violation pursuant to Section 251.161 of the Texas Transportation Code.”
