Tarleton State University’s Department of Fine Arts and Theatre at Tarleton present “Next to Normal,” a Tony Award winning musical, Feb. 19–22 in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.

Performances begin at 7:30 nightly. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors, children and Tarleton faculty and staff; and $5 for students.

“Next to Normal” is a Pulitzer Prize winning rock musical written by Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt that centers on a mother, Diana, played by community member Katie Rodgers, struggling with worsening bipolar disorder and the effects the disorder have on her family. 

The rest of the cast includes Cameron Bishop as Diana’s son, Gabe; Caleb Badgley as Dan, Diana’s husband; Rebecca Franko as Natalie, the couple’s daughter; Jenna Townsend as Henry, a classmate of Natalie; and Kody Lewis as Diana’s psychiatrist, Dr. Madden. Cheyenne Nash and Tyler Krumm are understudies.
