Memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7 at First United Methodist Church in Glen Rose, Texas.
Jo Ann was born on June 1, 1939 in Hutto, Texas to Leroy and Lizzie Lefler. Jo Ann lived in Grand Prairie and Arlington for 30 years while she worked as a secretary at Parkland Hospital, a purchasing agent at Shop-Rite Foods (Piggly Wiggly), and a shipping agent at Amerford Air Cargo at DFW airport. She and her husband James retired to their Glen Rose property and became active members of the community.
Jo Ann was involved in the First United Methodist Thrift Store, The Garden Club, the Bird Club, and the Native Plant Society. She was devout in her service to the First United Methodist Church in Glen Rose, and performed many hours of volunteer work at the First United Methodist Thrift Store for 10 years. Jo Ann deeply enjoyed the church family relationships she developed during her 20 years as a member.
While on a weekend camping trip to the M&W Ranch in 1977 she and Jim fell in love with Glen Rose and the very next year purchased property along the Brazos just south of town. Her hobbies included gardening and ranching, but most of all she loved to spend time with family, friends, and her little dog Boo.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Lefler and husband of 54 years, James Brady.
Jo Ann is survived by her sons, Mike Brady, Jeff Brady, and Jack Brady; grandchildren, Nicholas Brady, Nathan Brady, Johnny Brady, Lindsey Fry, Lacey Moore, Austin Brady, Amanda Brady; great-grandchild, Carter, Jones, and Alle.
