Glen Rose residents are invited to nominate a graduate of Glen Rose High School to receive the prestigious “Tiger’s Eye Award” to be presented during commencement exercises in May.

Nominees must be GRHS graduates who have supported local schools throughout the years in any of various ways: loyal attendance at events, purchased annually from school classes or organizations, volunteered for various programs and committees on campuses or at school activities, served as a mentor, or achieved outstanding honors within his or her chosen profession.

The winner will be selected by a rotating committee of GRHS graduates representing each decade. During graduation ceremonies in May, the winner will be presented with a custom tiger’s eye ring. Additionally, the winner will play a key role in these exercises, and his/her name will be added to a large plaque which is prominently displayed in the school auditorium.

Previous award winners are Billie Flanary, Weldon Hart, Logan Starnes, Jackie Epps, Windell Rozelle, Dorothy Gibbs, Jeanne Hart, Eddie Flanary, Sam White, Lloyd Wirt, Patricia West, Bonnah Boyd, Gloria Crisp, Jesse Pruitt, Walter Maynard, Jo Rozelle, Marilyn Phillips, Scott May, Brenda Ransom, Jack Bridges Jr., Glennis Million, and Sharon Lawler.
