The Glen Rose Independent School District is hosting a retirement reception for Nancy Moore at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 19. The reception will be held at the GRISD administration building on Stadium Drive.

Moore has been with the district for 28 years and has served as the director of curriculum and instruction for the past 10 years.

The school board is considering Ella Dianne Habluetzel as Mooreís replacement. Habluetzel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991 from Sam Houston State University. She has been the director of curriculum for Westwood Independent School District in Palestine since 2006. She is expected to graduate from Texas A&M University in May 2009 with a doctorate of philosophy in curriculum and instruction.

Jennifer Easter is also being recommended as a reading specialist for the elementary campus. She graduated from Glen Rose High School in 1988 and received a bachelorís degree from Tarleton State University in 1992. Easter has been with the Joshua Independent School District as a reading lab teacher since 1999. Her specialization areas include interdisciplinary studies, reading and English.

Cynthia Shaw received her teacherís certification from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1994 and has most recently taught biology and world geography at the Happy Hill Farm Academy in Granbury. She is being recommended for a science teacher position at the high school campus.

Teri Teaff, math teacher at Glen Rose Intermediate, will be considered as the new campus instructional facilitator. Teaff has taught on the intermediate campus since 2006. She received her principal certification from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2004.

The high school will also consider Kiel Miller as the new head softball coach, assistant football coach and composite social studies teacher. Miller graduated from Azle High School in 1993 and received a double major in history and political science from Tarleton State University in 1999. Beginning in 2000, he was the seventh grade head football coach for the White Settlement Independent School District. In 2006, Miller was the head varsity softball coach and the varsity wide receivers coach for Lake Worth Independent School District.
