Somervell County Commissioners were all business during a called meeting Jan. 19.

Commissioners received and accepted an annual report from the Historical Commission. After reviewing the report, they decided the status of the Deason Building in Heritage Park should be placed on the agenda and discussed at a future meeting. Concern about the safety of the building and who is responsible for repairing it was an issue before it was moved to the park in February 2008.

The building remains in poor condition and the court discussed the possibility of placing a fence around it until improvements can be made.

A change order for hospital construction was on the agenda as an action item for Monday’s meeting. However, the commissioners requested to have more time to review the request before taking a vote and the item was tabled.

The six item agenda also included awarding chemical bids and changing the date next month’s meeting to March 16.

Just over $1,000 was moved from capital improvements to the constable furniture and equipment account.

Commissioners also approved amendments to Somervell County subdivision rules to comply with the Texas model subdivision rules.
