Love the Brazos? Then be a friend to the river and help clean it up.

Saturday is the ninth annual Brazos River Clean-Up sponsored by Friends of the Brazos.

Meet at the Tres Rios Campground, 2322 County Road 312, at 9 a.m.

Free canoes and shuttles will be provided by Low Water Canoes and Rhodes Canoes. After the clean-up, Ranch House BBQ will provide a complimentary meal from 12:30 to 5 p.m.

If you need more information, contact Ed Lowe at 214-802-6811 or ed@friendsofthebrazos.org.

Get some color for your garden at the Somervell County Master Gardeners plant sale on the downtown square on Saturday. Herbs, perennials and vegetables will be available for purchase.

The sale opens at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. or until the plants are gone.

If all that buying and hauling plants or shopping on the square works up an appetite, head across the street to the Glen Rose O.E.S. all-you-can eat catfish fry Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m at the Glen Rose Masonic Lodge, 204 Barnard St.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under.

Proceeds benefit the high school scholarship that the lodge awards in May.

At Dinosaur Valley State Park, meet Texas Master Naturalists Bob and Gail at the park store Saturday morning for a presentation on the Monarch Butterfly Monitoring Project. Then you can participate in a survey about the grown of a butterfly milkweed host plant. The briefing at from 8 to 9 a.m. every two weeks until May 26.
