A 35-year-old man from Little Elm was killed Tuesday when his vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a concrete embankment.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on FM 51 nine miles northwest of Glen Rose.
Law enforcement authorities identified the man as Eli Tomas Villarreal. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Ronnie Webb. The body was taken to Wylie Funeral Home in Glen Rose.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety accident report, Villarreal was traveling northbound on FM 51 when his vehicle entered a left curve, ran off the roadway and struck a concrete embankment.
The posted speed limit was 45 miles per hour. DPS troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
Funeral arrangements for Villarreal are pending.
