Freedom Alliance is extending the application deadline for its Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund in hopes of providing scholarships to as many students as possible.
“We have had a great response so far,” said Freedom Alliance President Tom Kilgannon. “We are encouraged that so many deserving students are taking advantage of the opportunity. In addition to the financial assistance provided to qualified applicants, each scholarship awarded is recognition of sacrifices made by military heroes and their families. That is why we want to make this scholarship available to as many eligible students as possible and why we are happy to extend the scholarship deadline to August 1.”
To be eligible, an applicant must be the dependent son or daughter of a United States soldier, sailor, airman, Marine or Guardsman, who has been killed or permanently disabled with a 100 percent disability rating from the VA. The injuries must be a result of an operational mission or training accident. The military member may also be classified as a Prisoner of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA). The student must also be a high school senior or graduate or registered as a full time undergraduate student and under the age of 26.
