Two women were killed during a traffic accident Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the 2200 block on Hwy 67.

Thirty-year-old Jamie Sandefur of Burleson, and her passenger, 26-year-old Mindy Smith of Cleburne, died instantly when their 2000 red Honda Accord collided with a tractor-trailer hauling water.

Sandefur was headed west on Hwy 67 in the right-hand lane when her car veered off the edge of the road. She over corrected and lost control, spinning into the path of an eastbound tractor-trailer.

Truck driver Gerald Gresham of Rio Vista, Texas, said he was just coming over a hill at about 45 to 55 miles per hour when he struck the Accord.

The back end of the Accord was crushed underneath the truck and then pushed about 30 to 40 yards in the opposite direction before coming to a stop.

Sandefur and Smith died instantly.

Gresham suffered minor injuries to his arm.
