Last week's column by Kathryn Jones incorrectly stated that Chance Doyle, son of Greg Doyle, had been arrested for a second time.
The arrest for DWI on Feb. 3 was his first offense and occurred after the toxicology report came back from his November accident on Texas Drive. It showed a blood alcohol content that indicated the 22-year-old had been consuming alcohol and driving.
The Texas Department of Public Safety handled the accident investigation, which was why it took several months to complete.
The Somervell County Jail Log sent to the Reporter each week lists arrests and offenses, but it does not explain the circumstances behind the arrests.
The column's intention was to shed light on the problem of DWI in Somervell County and to commend the sheriff for not trying to keep his son's name out of the paper.
The Reporter apologizes to Chance Doyle and his family.
