A Glen Rose patriot who prefers to remain anonymous has erected a special memorial to veterans on his property at 1375 County Road 313 (look for the entrance with a large rock and cane). He invites anyone who would like to see it and take photographs to do so all day on Memorial Day. A memorial to fallen veterans includes a bayonet rifle, helmet, pack, boots and and an authentic battle flag, ridden with bullet holes, from World War II. Eight flags U.S., Texas, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and P.O.W./M.I.A. hang on special poles designed to let them pivot in the wind. The effect is a quiet but poignant remembrance to all those who have served in the nation's military forces. As the sign on the memorial says, "All gave some, some gave all."
