Those passing by the site on Farm Road 56 north of Glen Rose might have wondered what was going on last week when a crane began moving a large metal ball and suspending it in the air like a hot-air balloon. Then the crane’s arm swung over to the top of a pedestal-like tower and mounted the ball on top of it. Thus, Glen Rose’s newest landmark, a water tower, was born. The next step will be painting the tower and putting the Glen Rose Tigers’ logo on the southern and northern sides. The water tower is part of the Somervell Water District’s project to extend water services around the county.
