The Somervell County Commissioners Court met Monday to continue hashing out the new budget.

The Commissioners received four bids for roof repairs on the Somervell County Expo Center. SLR Roofing Systems from Fort Worth came in just under $180,000. Jeff Eubank Roofing Company out of Fort Worth came in at $194,000. BRI Roofing and Sheet Metal bid $158,300. One bid from A-1 Systems was disqualified as incomplete.

The floor was opened for discussion concerning county fire and EMS services. Judge Walter Maynard said the court does not intend to discontinue services, but was trying to take care of some oversights.

Maynard said there is no statue in place allowing the county services inside the city, creating a liability issue. He said a written mutual aid agreement needed to be reached between the city and the county. The court is not allowed to approach the city council with a formal proposal. The commissioners are hoping to keep the floor open for the city of Glen Rose to formulate an agreement.

The commissioners ended the meeting by reviewing the progressing budget. Several issues still need to be hammered out and the court is set to reconvene next week to continue working on the budget.
