Reporter Staff Repor

A few motorists had a hard time staying on the road this weekend. The Texas Highway Patrol reported three single-vehicle accidents over the weekend.

The first accident occurred on July 10, just after 3 p.m. Glen Rose resident Tara Sumners was traveling on FM 200 in a 2000 white, Honda Accord when she crashed into a fence. The report stated Sumners was headed north and traveling at an unsafe speed. Her car veered to the right and she overcorrected to the left and then to the right. She then rolled the car through two fence lines, causing an estimated $300 in damages.

The second accident occurred just after midnight on July 13. A white Saturn, driven by Kendra Daniel of Granbury, was traveling east on Texas Highway 67. Daniel veered to the right and overcorrected. The car crossed into the westbound lane before coming to a stop in the ditch. The report stated Daniel said she was tired and fell asleep while driving. Daniel and her passenger were transported to the Glen Rose Medical Center.

The third accident happened a short time later at 1 a.m. on July 13. Charlie Hulsey of Glen Rose was traveling north on FM 56 in a Ford F150. Again, the driver veered off the right side of the road and overcorrected. The truck rolled into the left lane ditch and struck a fence on Oak Tree Ranch. The accident report states Hulsey was traveling at an unsafe speed and caused an estimated $500 in damage to the fence. Hulsey was transported to the Glen Rose Medical Center.
