Somervell County Tax Assessor Darlene Chambers will extend her office hours to accommodate last minute voter registrations.

Oct. 6 is the last day to register or to make any changes to a voter registration card for the Nov. 4 election.

Chambers said normal office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. But due to more people wanting to register this election cycle, the office will be open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Oct. 4, and from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6.

Voters will need a valid driverís license number and applications will be available in the office.

The tax assessorís office is located in the County Annex building.

Early voting begins Oct. 20 and anyone wanting to vote by mail must have their ballots returned no later than Oct. 28.
