Reporter Staff Report

The Sefko Planning Group of Freese & Nichols conducted a community input meeting at the Expo Center on Feb. 23.

Information gathered from citizens will help create the Glen Rose Comprehensive Plan, a guide for the future growth of the city. The completed plan will be a basis for zoning, zoning decisions and for the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).

Citizens viewed a Power Point presentation that included explanation of the planning process and baseline facts about the Glen Rose area. They also completed a questionnaire to help define what citizens would like to see in the final plan.

The meeting concluded with time for public comments and discussion.

Areas of concern expressed by citizens included the amount of traffic through the downtown area, lack of affordable housing, visual presentation along Highway 67, consideration of hiring a city manager, preserving open spaces and keeping the traditional feel of Glen Rose.
