American State Bank is proud to present the American Tribute flag field to honor the community’s first responders, as well as pay tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedies.

ASB team members placed an impressive display of over 100 flags at the field located at U.S. Highway 67 adjacent to the Glen Rose ISD Technology Center. McAnear Machinery will provide lights at no cost to illuminate the field at night.

The stars and stripes will wave proudly through Sept. 13. The public is encouraged to tour the field or at least drive by and enjoy the inspiring site.

Commemorative T-shirts for $5 and flags for $25 will be sold at ASB branches. All proceeds will benefit the ASB Nursing Scholarship Fund.

American State Bank started the American Tribute in 2002 on the first anniversary of the attacks. ASB wanted to create a memorial for the victims of 9/11 as well as a place of honor for our first responders. The project they came up with is the American Tribute flag field, which has become an important tradition in many of the communities ASB serves.
