Residents and supporters of the Glen Rose Independent School District are invited to nominate a Glen Rose High School graduate to receive this year’s “Tiger’s Eye Award” to be presented during commencement exercises in May.

Nominees must be GRHS graduates who have supported local schools throughout the years in any of the following ways: loyal attendance at events, made annual purchases from school classes or organizations, volunteered for programs and committees on campus or at school activities, served as a mentor or achieved outstanding honors within his or her profession.

During graduation ceremonies in May, the winner will receive a custom tiger’s eye ring created by Jess Hardie. The winner also will play a key role in graduation exercises and his or her name will be added to a large plaque prominently displayed in the school auditorium.

Previous award winners are Billie Flanary, Weldon Hart, Logan Starnes, Jackie Epps, Windell Rozelle, Dorothy Gibbs, Jeanne Hart, Eddie Flanary, Sam White, Lloyd Wirt, Patricia West and Bonnah Boyd.

To nominate someone, a brief letter of recommendation must be received by the Tiger’s Eye Selection Committee no later than Monday, April 12.
