The Glen Rose Independent School Board of Trustees hired six new teachers for the intermediate and elementary campuses after an executive session at the regular meeting on April 27.

Celeste Parrish will replace an outgoing first grade teacher in the fall. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1998 with a Bachelorís of Science. Parrish is currently teaching in the Granbury ISD.

Debora Cathey will join the elementary campus as well. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and completed her student teaching in Oklahoma in 1997. She has been an elementary school teacher since 1998 in Garland, Texas, and at A.G Elder Elementary in Joshua.

Kassi Foegelle will teach a second grade class next year. She graduated from Tarleton State University in 2001 and began working as a kindergarten teacher at North Joshua Elementary School. Foegelle moved to the fourth grade, teaching at Oak Woods Intermediate School in Granbury in 2008.

Mandy Turner will take the helm of a fifth grade class on the intermediate campus. She graduated from Tarleton State University where she also worked at the Child Development Center. She taught at Walnut Springs for two years and at Three Way for a year before coming to the Glen Rose district.

Jaylynn Cauthen will join the intermediate campus also, as a fourth grade teacher. Cauthen graduated from Texas State University in 2007 with a Bachelorís of Science in Elementary Education. She worked as a fourth grade teacher in the Buda school district before coming to Glen Rose.

Candace Stegint graduated from the Texas A&M University in 1994 and will join the Glen Rose team as a third grad teacher. She has worked in Hunstville ISD elementary classrooms, Fort Worth ISD classrooms and most recently at the Mambrina School in Granbury as a fourth grade science and social studies teacher.

All of the new teachers are certified and highly qualified in their teaching areas.
