George's Creek Baptist Church in Somervell County will host its 42nd annual homecoming beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14.

The church had its beginnings in 1885, and this marks the 107th anniversary of a church reorganization in 1905.

Activities for the day will include Sunday School at 10 a.m, worship at 10:50 followed by a covered dish luncheon. Old-fashioned gospel singing will he held from 1:30-3 p.m.

Pastor Earl Whitehead and his wife, Katherine, celebrated their 50th year of continuous service at George's Creek on Aug. 5.

Pastor Whitehead will deliver a message at the homecoming worship service, titled, "Heaven is Going Home."

Everyone is cordially invited to attend any or all of the homecoming festivities.

The church is located on CR 308, about 1.3 miles north of US Highway 67 east of Glen Rose and west of Cleburne.
