Special to the Reporter
Been needing to clean out your garage or shed? Got lots of stuff you need to get rid of in the attic?
Save the trouble of setting up a yard sale at your house and bring your goods down to the city parking lot behind Caylor Creek on the first Saturday of each month. The next Market Days on the Square date is September 4.
It costs only $5 to set up downtown and you get the advertising free. The Glen Rose/Somervell County Chamber of Commerce will do all the work, set up the signs, put an ad in the paper and send customers your way.
Making its debut Labor Day weekend, Market Days on the Square is sure to be a big hit. Vendors set up their goods around the historic courthouse square, while swap meet and “trash and treasure” vendors set up in the grassy area surrounding the chamber and the city lot behind Caylor Creek. Farmer’s Market vendors are also set up on the south side of the square.
Shoppers will enjoy a great assortment of booths, with items ranging from arts and crafts, collectibles, sports memorabilia, children’s items, home décor, jewelry and antiques. In addition, there are many boutiques, antique and souvenir shops located around the square. Come early to shop, then stick around to experience the great food and live entertainment in our small-town atmosphere.
Just fill out the application form for the first Market Days, return it to the chamber by Aug. 27 and we’ll get you in the paper. The other 2010 Market Days dates are Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4.
Vendor booths at Market Days on the Square are rented on a monthly basis. To apply for a vendor spot, please contact Angel Smith at 897-2286.
