The winners of the “42” tournament on March 4 were: 1st place Royce Stacy & Floyd Flanary; 2nd place Eddie & Billie Flanary; 3rd place was a three-way tie between the teams of Zula Hunter & Cora Harkins, Roy Mercer & Clark Stewart, and Nancy Moore & Veda Gosdin; 4th place was a tie between the teams of Dorothy Jo Osborn & Ila Verne Stull, and Trey Welch & Ann Parham. The last team participating was Jeff Parker and Patsy Thompson.
Free AARP Tax Help! The AARP Tax-Aide team of certified volunteer counselors will be available at the Glen Rose Senior Center every Monday to assist tax-payers of all ages with their income tax preparation. E filing is available at no charge, as well as direct deposit of the taxpayers refund. The counselors will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments may be made by calling 254-897-4838.
Activities at the Center beginning on March 16 are: AARP tax aide on Monday; needlework, ceramics, Tops, wear your green day and Community Resource Network meeting on Tuesday; health screening and “42” tournament on Wednesday; Tops and David’s grocery shopping on Thursday; bingo with Wanda, quilting, Shop & Swap and Brookshire’s grocery shopping on Friday.
