The Glen Rose Christmas in the Park committee is gearing up for another holiday season and needs help in making this yearís parade, tree lighting and lights in Heritage Park the best yet.
"Christmas in the Park is such a special event to the Glen Rose community and the committee wants to make it even bigger and better in 2012," Tara Hanszen, special event coordinator with the conventions and visitors bureau, said.
A volunteer meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15 at Oakdale Park for community members interested in getting involved in this yearís Christmas celebration.
"The goal is to have Heritage Park open December 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22 with refreshments, pictures with Santa and tours of the historical buildings," Janszen said. "If we donít have enough support from the community, that wonít be possible. There are many different ways to get involved, from providing refreshments to decorating the park. Just come to the meeting on Monday to find out where you can help out."
Individuals who would like to provide assistance but cannot make the meeting, are encouraged to contact Janszen at firstname.lastname@example.org or (254) 897-3081.
