Lots of kids and adults have been taking the Oakdale Park plunge during the first two weekends of the pool’s seasonal reopening. Visitors will see some changes as Oakdale Park unveils part of its city-funded renovation. Besides the upgraded front office, swimmers will notice new red-and-white lounge chairs, a fresh coat of red paint on pool rails and lifeguard stands and the old concession stand is back in its white building. Billy Huckaby, executive director of the Glen Rose Convention & Visitors Bureau, said the concession stand did more than $900 on Saturday while the Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival was in full swing at Oakdale Park. The addition of a grill to the concession stand and the smell of sizzling hamburgers proved irresistible. Hungry park visitors devoured about 300 of them.
