Colleen E. Milam, a registered nurse with 25 years experience, has joined Glen Rose Medical Center as chief nursing officer.

“Her leadership experience in nursing operations will be valuable as we continue to evaluate strategies to enhance and improve the high quality care currently provided to patients,” said Gary Marks, the medical center's chief executive officer.

Milam most recently served as chief nursing officer of Good Shepherd Medical Center in Linden, Texas. She was responsible for operational and strategic direction for emergency, medical-surgical, women’s, children’s, surgery and selected outpatient services. Throughout her nursing career, she has served in nursing management roles with critical care, emergency services, acute care services, outcomes management and clinical effectiveness.

Milam received a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Texas School of Nursing in Galveston and a masters of science in nursing from Lamar University in Beaumont. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society and American Nurses Association.

“I am glad to be a part of the Glen Rose Medical Center team and excited about doing whatever it takes to provide the very best nursing care to the patients and families in our community,” Milam said. “I want everyone to know that if they ever need anything at all, I am available 24/7.

"Just tell someone at the hospital that you want to speak to the chief nurse and they will call or find me, anytime—really,” she added.
