You still have time to help bring more roses to Glen Rose as part of Project 2010 Rosebush.
The next deadline to order roses is Friday, Sept. 24. This is the last opportunity to order the roses and have them brought to Glen Rose. Delivery is scheduled for the end of next week. The Earth-Kind roses come in one gallon containers and are $12 each.
The "Put the Rose Back in Glen Rose" joint project was conceived by the Glen Rose/Somervell County Networking Group in partnership with the Glen Rose/Somervell County Chamber of Commerce and the Somervell County Master Gardeners Association.
The organizations are on the way to reaching their goal of planting 2,010 Earth-Kind® roses in and around Glen Rose and Somervell County by the end of 2010. This effort is in preparation for the State Master Gardener Conference to be held in Glen Rose in April 2011.
Earth-Kind® roses are easy-care, low maintenance and thrive in the area's environment. Most bloom for many months of the year and come in all colors.
"This is the best time to be planting these EarthKind roses," said Donna Hagar, president of the Somervell County Master Gardeners Association. "Get them in now for a great showing in the spring."
