1 - Have fun at 'your city park'

Oakdale Parks hosts Spring Fling 2014 with an array of free events lined up for hometown fun seekers and visitors to enjoy. The fun begins Saturday with a family scavenger hunt through downtown businesses and includes story times, arts & crafts, live entertainment and more through next Saturday, March 15. 2 - Dig up dino remains

Paleontologists, geologists and dinosaur-loving volunteers will gather at Joanna's Dinosaur Track Site, located just off U.S. Highway 67 behind Comfort Inn & Suites, beginning Saturday and continuing through next weekend. Site Director Jerry Jacene is welcoming interested parties of all ages to dig into fun and exploration around the "outdoor classroom."

3 - Explore local attractions

When it comes to attractions, Somervell County has a lot to offer. Explore Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Dinosaur World, Dino Valley State Park, Big Rocks and more.

While there is a chance of showers Saturday and a slight chance Sunday, National Weather Service predicts highs in the 70s and sunshine Monday and Tuesday. Get up. Get out. And enjoy the great outdoors.

4 - Shop the square

Downtown Glen Rose is alive, with several newer businesses brining greater options for shopping locally. Throughout spring break, downtown shop owners are expected to keep their doors a little later.

5 - Gather under the big top

Elephants, horses, llamas, camels and clowns, oh my! Kelly Miller Brothers Circus brings its old fashioned act to Somervell County Expo Center Friday, March 14. The big top will be raised at around 9 a.m., and performances are scheduled for 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Free tickets for children may be obtained at various businesses across Glen Rose, including the Convention & Visitors Bureau.
