The Glen Rose Downtown Association invites the community to a special fundraising event Thursday evening featuring the Tarleton Jazz Ensemble. The concert will begin at 7:30 pm at the Somervell County Citizens Center.

Thanks to the generosity of several of the downtown businesses, there will be a dessert and coffee bar for everyone to enjoy.

The Tarleton Jazz Ensemble is the premier jazz group from the university's Stephenville campus that plays music a range of music - from Ellington and Basie to Schneider and Mintzer. Under the direction of Greg Ball, the band has performed around the world.

The Downtown Association invites families and friends to come enjoy an incredible evening of music, dessert and fellowship and help “Jazz up the Square!”

There is a $5 suggested donation per person which will help fund the purchase of a permanent music system for the historic courthouse square.

Inn on the River owners Ernie and Shirley Reinke are passionate about getting a music system for the square. They donated dinner for 32 people at the inn as part of the event. Tickets for the exclusive sold out within a week of promoting the event, raising $1,600 which will be used to help fund the purchase of the sound system.

To kick off the exclusive dinner, Jeanie Lane, owner The White Buffalo Gallery, will host a social hour at the gallery where guest will browse the gallery while enjoying music from saxophonist Moumin Quazi.

The fundraising dinner will finish in time for guests to walk over to the citizen center for the concert by the Tarleton Jazz Ensemble.
