Mobile Dentists made a visit to several GRISD campuses this week, bringing clean smiles to students at school.
The preventative dental care program visited campuses last year as well, according to high school nurse Janet Railsback. The program is open to all students and some may qualify for free services.
A release from Mobile Dentists said children who receive dental sealants in school-based programs have 60 percent fewer new decayed pit and fissure surfaces in back teeth for up to 5 years after a single application.
Mobile Dentists conduct dental exams, cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatment and sealants in mini offices set up on campus.
More information about the program can be found at their Web site www.mobiledentist.com.
