The congregation of Happy Trails Cowboy Church of Glen Rose is pleased to announce JJ Jennings has been called to be the new pastor of the church.

Jennings who was born in Washington, DC, and raised in West Virginia has moved to Glen Rose along with his wife, Terry, to lead the church.

Jennings began the Pecos County Cowboy Church of Ft. Stockton, in a park with just two people attending. It grew into a church of 50 within 12 months and is currently home to 70 members.

“I believe God has called Terry and me to Glen Rose to be part of a great work,” Jennings said. “I know He has not given up on the church here and we aren’t going to either. The greatest days are still in front of us.”

Terry was born in Arlington, Va. And moved to Florida where she met Jennings. They moved to Texas and fell in love with the people and beauty of the state.

“I have found life is so much greater in our Father’s will,” she states. “Our ministry is to be in the cowboy church movement and help reach those who are lost and unchurched by breaking down barriers.”

Jennings also works as assistant director for the Texas Fellowship of Cowboy Churches, based in Waxahachie. TFCC started about nine years ago with one man getting in line with God’s vision for the Western heritage culture. The movement has grown to 135 churches in Texas and is now expanding into adjoining states.

If you like good western gospel music, a simple but powerful message from the Bible and real genuine fellowship with folks who work and live in the western lifestyle, then you’ll enjoy the casual atmosphere of this church located at 1497 Hwy 67 West. They meet every Sunday at 10 a.m.
