Fishermen lined up on the banks of the Paluxy River last Saturday to toss in a line and try to catch some of the trout stocked in Town Lake above the weir at Big Rocks. The Somervell County Water District made its fourth annual trout stocking in the river this season. The first stocking took place on Dec. 8 with 1,000 trout. An additional 1,000 trout were released last Thursday. A donation from Luminant made the trout stocking possible. Local ordinances require the use of single barbless hooks while fishing in the Big Rocks area. And, as fishermen young and old discovered, the fish were biting.
