Early voting runs through Friday, April 4 at the clerk's office. The actual runoff election day is Tuesday, April 8. Precincts 3 and 6 will vote at the Community Center; Precincts 4 and 5 will vote at the Masonic Lodge; and Precincts 1 and 2 will vote at the same places they voted in the Primary.

AARP is offering Free Tax Aide for taxpayers with low and middle income, with special attention to those 60 years of age and older. Hill College will host its third annual Boots and Suits Ball at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at The Forum in Whitney. The Meridian Group of Alcoholics Anonymous has moved to the Brantley Building in downtown Meridian (116-B Main St. on Hwy 144) and the entry door is between the Allstate office and the Meridian Public Library. The group meets three times a week - on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. Meetings are open to anyone who thinks they may have a problem with alcohol.
