We were thrilled to have Maxine Sloan and Libbye Brooks visit us. Maxine is Dee Dee Jones’ mother and Libbye is Dee Dee’s sister. Also Wilma Cooper from Cleburne had lunch with us one day. She is Mary Ruth Wirt’s mother.

The “42” tournament winners on Nov. 19: 1st place was a tie between the teams of Dorothy Jo Osborn & Ila Verne Stull and Floyd Flanary & Dortha Beck; 2nd place was Roy Mercer & Clark Stewart; 3rd place was a tie between Loveda Swaim & Grady May and Veda Gosdin & Nancy Moore; 4th place was a tie between Zula Hunter & Cora Harkins and Don Baker & Clara Singletary. Teams not placing but enjoyed the day anyway were: Royce Stacy & Dorothy Holder; Eddie & Billie Flanary; Patsy Thompson & Jeff Parker; Mary Pruett & Billie Jean Pickins; Trey Welch & Alice Lance; and J.R. Armstrong & Jim Halbert. Thank you to Mary Baker who served as tournament judge.

Activities at the Center beginning Dec. 1: “42”, beading with Julie and quilting on Monday; needlework, ceramics, hearing screening and Tops on Tuesday; “42” tournament and a health screening on Wednesday; TOPS and David’s grocery shopping on Thursday; quilting, bingo with Lori and Brookshire’s grocery shopping on Friday.

There will be “42” tournaments on Dec. 3 and 10 because the Hinkle Family Gospel Group and Christmas lunch will be served on the 17th, which would have been a tournament day.

Just a reminder, call in your reservations for Christmas lunch by Dec. 16 if possible.

Hammond’s BBQ is offering their 10th Annual Free Thanksgiving Meal on Thursday, Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our hats off to Larry Higgins, owner of Hammond’s BBQ. What a great service to our community!

The Citizen’s Center will be closed Dec 25 and 26 for the Christmas Holidays.

Dec. 1 - pork chop w/ gravy, macaroni & cheese, tossed salad, biscuit, fruit salad and milk

Dec. 2 - navy beans w/ham, spinach, corn, okra and tomatoes, cornbread, buttermilk pie and milk

Dec. 3 - barbecue chicken, potato salad, baked beans, slice of wheat, peach dump cake and milk

Dec 4 - hamburger and all the fixings, pea salad, potato chips, brownies and milk

Dec. 5 - fried catfish, pinto beans, coleslaw, hushpuppies, cookies and milk.
