The J.M. McCroskey Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Somervell County Citizens Association will award a $1,000 college academic grant to a deserving 2011 graduating senior of Glen Rose High School who intends to enter college in the fall.

J.M. McCroskey was the superintendent of the Glen Rose Independent School District from 1956 to 1974.

Recipients will be selected on the basis of their academic performance and general citizenship. All interested students are encouraged to apply by submitting a summary of academic performance and general citizenship to the Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 828, Glen Rose, TX 76043 by April 30.

The Somervell County Citizens Association also will award a $500 art scholarship to a senior student who plans to study art at the collegiate level. Specific areas of art include animation, art education, film, graphic arts and video game design.
