The Somervell County Master Gardeners Association (SCMGA) will give a free presentation on landscaping with native and adapted plants at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 12 at the Citizenís Center as part of their community horticultural education program.

Ben Oefinger, a past president of the Johnson County Master Gardeners Association and Tarrant County Master Gardeners Association, and current president of the Parks Board in Cleburne, will share some tips and advice with an emphasis on using native and adapted plants in the overall landscaping at home.

Winter is the perfect time to think about any changes or additions to landscaping that need to be made in the spring.

Native Texas or adapted plants require less water, less labor and are tolerant of hot summers in Texas.
