We will be serving spaghetti and all the trimmings this Friday, Oct. 10, at the Citizen’s Center. The meal is planned for the Paluxy Pedal contestants and the public. If you plan to attend, please call ahead to let us know how many will be in your party. The meal will consist of spaghetti, salad, bread, banana pudding, and tea. The charge will be $7.50 a plate and we will start serving at 5 p.m.

Rosie Mimms is organizing a senior queen’s contest and senior men’s talent show for Saturday, Oct. 18. The contest will start at 7 p.m. at the Citizen’s and there will be a $5 charge at the door. Come and enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the Somervell County Committee on Aging who provide services for the elderly.

Flu shots will be available at the Citizen’s Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. You will need a copy of your Medicare card with you.

We would like to welcome Amber Shepard as a staff member at the Citizen’s Center. Amber will be working in the kitchen at the Center. We wish her good luck and hope she stays with us for many years to come.

If you have questions pertaining to re-enrolling in Medicare and dropping your Medicare Replacement insurance call the Center at 897-2139. We have the information you will need to complete this change. Seniors only have the months of November and December to make this change.

Activities at the Center beginning on Oct. 13 are: ceramics and Wal-Mart shopping on Monday; needlework, exercise, health screening and flu shots on Tuesday; health screening and “42” tournament on Wednesday; TOPS and David’s grocery shopping on Thursday; quilting, bingo, swap & shop and Brookshire’s grocery shopping on Friday.
